Delta Hotels and Resorts Announces Expanded Corporate Team

Newly created roles and senior appointments support Delta’s reinvigorated brand and growth strategy

August 12, 2013 - Toronto, ON

Delta Hotels and Resorts’ President and CEO, Ken Greene, announced changes to the company’s leadership team at its corporate office in Toronto.  The changes include key appointments and newly created roles in areas such as Sales, Design & Construction and Marketing.  Earlier this year, Delta announced that the company is undergoing an extensive brand repositioning to become the leading four-star, full-service hotel chain in Canada.

The new appointments are effective immediately and include the following:

Laura Pallotta has been promoted to Executive Director, Sales. Under this position, Pallotta will lead Delta’s overall sales strategy and oversee National, Regional and Field Sales.  Pallotta is a seasoned sales professional with over 21 years of hotel experience, 10 of which were spent in rapidly progressive leadership positions at Delta.  This includes her most recent role as Corporate Director of Sales where Pallotta provided strategic support for sales distribution and partnerships and oversaw the National Sales team. Pallotta holds a Bachelor of Sociology from McMaster University and a Diploma in Special Events Planning from George Brown College, School of Hospitality. In addition, she is a graduate of Delta’s ‘Elite Fast Tracker Program’ from Ryerson University, and is currently working on her Leadership Masters Certificate from Cornell University

Jagdish Nair has been appointed as Project Director, Design & Construction. In this role, Nair is responsible for the successful delivery of all projects within Delta’s owned assets.  Nair was most recently Senior Project Manager at CB Richard Ellis Limited where he managed a large portfolio of capital projects.  Nair has extensive international experience having managed both hospitality and commercial projects in Dubai, Middle East and India.  Nair is a Civil Engineer and earned a Masters Degree in Engineering Project Management from University of Glamorgan in UK and a Certificate in Hotel Real Estate Investments & Asset Management from Cornell University.

Liana Guiry has been named Director, Marketing.  In this role, Guiry is responsible for developing and executing consistent marketing strategies that support business growth, and enhances brand equity and awareness.  Guiry was most recently the Vice President, Marketing at the Ontario Tourism Marketing Partnership Corporation where she oversaw all marketing and research initiatives across its domestic and global markets.  Guiry also worked as Director, Customer Development for American Express where she successfully grew new business volume in partnership with sales teams.  Guiry holds an Honour Degree in Applied Science from the University of Guelph and is an MBA graduate of the Richard Ivey School of Business at Western
