Delta Hotels and Resorts named one of Canada’s 50 Best Employers

October 20, 2011 - Toronto, ON

Delta Hotels and Resorts was ranked 9th on the “50 Best Employers in Canada” list by Aon Hewitt. This is the twelfth consecutive year Delta has placed on the list, but first year to rank in the top ten.

“Once again we are proud to be acknowledged by our hard-working employees and join the ranks of Canada’s 50 Best Employers,” said William Pallett, Senior Vice President, People Resources, Delta Hotels and Resorts. “We continue to maintain a focus on employee engagement and are constantly reviewing and revising our talent strategy to further improve on established practices for attracting and developing the best talent.”

The 50 Best Employers study measures employee engagement, not just satisfaction or benefits programs. Engagement is about employees’ level of commitment and accountability for improving business results.

Excellence Canada (formerly the National Quality Institute) will also recognize Delta Hotels and Resorts as a Founding Partner.  This puts Delta among a selected group of top-tier companies such as Bank of Canada, National Post, Manulife Financial and CMA Ontario to name a few.  All Founding Partners sit on the Board of Governors of Excellence Canada to help shape the excellence agenda in the journey towards continued employee excellence.

“We’re excited to be able to work with well-renowned companies to help create a community of excellence,” said Pallett. “This recognition further illustrates Delta’s focus on a healthy and supportive workplace.”

Delta is the only hotel company to have been recognized by this organization with three Canada Awards for Excellence, including the award program’s highest honour, the Order of Excellence (2007).

The list of the 50 Best Employers in Canada, along with highlights from the research findings, will be published in the October 31st issue of Maclean’s magazine, available on newsstands on October 20, 2011. La Presse will publish the list with editorial content on November 3, 2011.
