Delta Halifax and Barrington Hotels are proud to announce they have won the Community Service Award presented by the Canadian Tourism Awards. This award recognizes the work that Delta Halifax and Barrington Hotels have done to support Habitat for Humanity Nova Scotia.
The Community Service Award is presented annually by the Tourism Industry Association of Canada, the national association representing tourism businesses. It is presented to those individuals and organizations who have made an outstanding contribution to developing, building and enhancing social conditions in their community.
Delta Halifax and Barrington Hotels were recognized for their commitment, leadership and engagement for the work they accomplished with Habitat for Humanity Nova Scotia over the past five years through their joint “Raise a Little Help” community fundraising event. In partnership with Habitat, they built five homes in five years, purchased land for four sets of duplexes, retrofitted a men’s shelter and provided legacies of $455,000.
"It is with gratitude and pride that we join in congratulating Stuart Jolliffe and our extended family at the Delta Halifax and Barrington Hotels for receiving the TIAC community service award,” said Anne Connolly, Executive Director of Habitat for Humanity Nova Scotia. “Stuart is a visionary leader who saw the potential in our organization and has been instrumental in the success of Habitat for Humanity Nova Scotia.”
“The dedication and passion of our team is outstanding,” says Stuart Joliffe, Vice President and General Manager of Delta Halifax and Barrington Hotels. “Helping people in our community is not just a nice thing to do; it is an expression of what it means to be part of Delta.”
