Nestled beneath the International Bridge, the canal features a recreational lock, historic buildings, trails, and a unique Emergency Swing Dam. Opened in 1895, the canal completed an all-Canadian waterway and featured the longest lock in the world. Visitors may walk the trails, view wildlife, fish the rapids, enjoy a picnic, watch the boats lock through, and explore the displays in the Visitor Centre. Enjoy the site at your leisure or join an expert interpreter on a guided site tour.
