Delta Burlington Waterfront delivers first four-star hotel in prime waterfront location.
With the promise of ‘Expect Even More,’ Delta Hotels and Resorts today unveiled plans for a new waterfront hotel in Burlington, Ontario. Ranked as one of Canada’s Best Places to Live in 2014 by Money Sense, Burlington will be home to the newest member of the Delta family and part of a growing community of waterfront properties across Ontario and Canada. Delta Burlington Waterfront will become the city’s first four-star full-service hotel and will showcase Delta’s reinvigorated brand through modern design and innovation. The hotel is scheduled to start construction in 2016 and open in 2018.
“We are excited to grow our network of waterfront properties, which boast some of the most spectacular views in the country,” says Ken Greene, President and CEO, Delta Hotels and Resorts. “The property’s prime waterfront and downtown location with unobstructed views of Lake Ontario is what sets it apart from the competition, and its modern design and amenities will position the hotel as a product leader in the local marketplace.”
Delta Burlington Waterfront is part of the Burlington Bridgewater project being developed by MADY as a planned work/live/play neighbourhood that will also contain condominiums and retail space. Designed by Page + Steele / IBI Group Architects, the architect group behind Delta’s flagship hotel in downtown Toronto, the hotel will feature the latest in global hospitality design and innovation.
“We are pleased to introduce Delta’s elevated four-star full-service hotel as a valuable component of our Bridgewater development,” says Charles Mady, CEO, MADY. “Delta’s modern design and focus on exceeding guest expectations combined with our prime waterfront location and stunning views will deliver an exceptional experience for guests travelling to the region.”
The 52-year old Canadian hotel company recently unveiled its ‘Expect Even More’ brand campaign. From the introduction of its new ModeRooms™, which feature a modern and sleek design, to the development of new properties, Delta is working harder than ever to exceed guest expectations. The new hotel will offer 152 ModeRoom™ guest rooms and suites; approximately 8,000 square feet of conference space including a 3,000 square foot main ballroom and a combination of executive boardroom-style meeting rooms; a full-service restaurant and lounge; and an indoor pool and state-of-the-art fitness centre.
Ideally located on a prime waterfront location in Burlington’s downtown core, Delta Burlington Waterfront will provide direct access to the Waterfront Trail and Lake Ontario. It is also within close proximity to shopping, as well as an array of cultural and outdoor attractions including the Royal Botanical Gardens, Joseph Brant Museum and Ireland House, the Burlington Art Centre, the Brant Street Pier, and the Iroquoia section of the Bruce Trail. Local and international travellers will also enjoy easy access to the Greater Toronto Area and beyond via close proximity to the GO Train network, 400-series highway, and international airports.
Delta Burlington Waterfront will be managed by Delta Hotels and Resorts, and is being developed by MADY, a Canadian company founded over 40 years ago in Ontario with commercial and residential business operations across North America.
From coast to coast, Delta is introducing fresh and modern designs and opening new properties in cities such as Ottawa and Kingston that meet Delta’s new brand standards. The biggest symbol of Delta’s transformation is its flagship 46-storey hotel slated to open in downtown Toronto in December 2014. Delta Burlington Waterfront is Delta’s tenth property in Ontario, with new hotels also scheduled to open in Waterloo in 2014 and Thunder Bay in 2015.
