Our event planners offer groups customized organic and regional menus, eco-tours demonstrating some of the award winning practices we have implemented with our partnerships and even tree planting ceremonies where your event can be memorialized with a tree. Recently awarded by the Hotel Association of Canada for it Environmental efforts in 2007 and rated Four Green Keys, the Delta Sun Peaks Resort has been acknowledged by its peers as an industry leader in protecting the environment with it’s comprehensive “Green” operation. Located within a natural habitat that is each year threatened by potential global warming, the Delta Sun Peaks Resort makes a concerted effort to ensure that guests and employees are educated on efforts to sustain our mountain. Delta Sun Peaks Resort has developed long lasting partnerships with many local organizations to further assist us our efforts and many of our environmental programs continue to be refined with new technologies and knowledge.

Food & Beverage

  • Support of Ocean Wise™ menu program, serving only ocean-friendly sustainable farmed seafood
  • Organic food waste recycling program
  • Reusable utensils, napkins and tablecloths
  • Whenever possible the utilization of fresh, locally produced and organic farm-to-table food
  • Recycling kitchen grease waste by a local company and converting to Bio-Diesel for Resort's 2 stroke engines
  • Purchasing of Energy Star equipment when available
  • Onsite growth of culinary herbs

Accommodation

  • Comp parking for Hybrid vehicles
  • Reduced water usage and heating fuel with low flow toilets and shower aerators
  • Towel Program, where hung towels are re-used
  • Sheet Change Program: Instead of daily sheets changed every 3 days unless requested
  • Energy saving bulbs (incandescent to compact fluorescent) in all guest rooms and public areas
  • Donation of linens and furnishings to local charities such as Habitat for Humanity
  • Environmentally responsible cleaners (MSDS Health Hazard rating 1 or less)
  • Newspapers delivered without plastic bags
  • Bear Aware Program which educates guests and staff on responsibilities
  • Automated pool chemical system reducing water and energy consumption significantly
  • Automated boiler management system improving energy usage efficiencies
  • Automated drip style landscaping irrigation system

Meetings & Administration

  • Employee reduced paper usage through increased electronic communication
  • Group shuttle service available to resort
  • Communication and education of Environmental efforts to guests and employees
  • Recycling bins and programs in all guest room, offices and team member areas

  • Energy saving reminder stickers on each Guest door
  • Drought tolerant vegetation and mulching
  • Idle Free Zone signage at loading docks and entrance
